Salary Range: $19.00 - $25.00 Hourly
Job DescriptionJob Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Support Assistant to join our team at Platinum Dermatology Partners. As a Medical Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our medical team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Escort patients to and from exam rooms, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
- Enter medical histories and prescriptions into our electronic medical record system.
- Assist physicians during exams and procedures, providing support and ensuring patient comfort.
- Perform extractions, injections, and collect path/lab specimens, notifying patients of results and scheduling follow-up appointments as needed.
- Educate patients and respond to their questions in a professional and compassionate manner.
- Document all medical instructions given to patients and maintain accurate records.
- Organize exam rooms, prepare procedure trays, clean and autoclave instruments, and stock supplies.
Qualifications:
- Certification preferred (i.e., Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Dermatology Technician, etc.)
- Minimum two years' experience in a doctor's office, with prior dermatology experience preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional appearance and mannerisms.
- Knowledgeable of medical dermatology terms/CPT, ICD-10.
- Able to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with patients and co-workers.
- Able to prioritize tasks, understand provider instructions, and know when to seek information or advice.
Work Environment: This position is in a well-lighted medical office environment. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
Physical Requirements: Must possess the manual dexterity to operate office machines, including computers and calculators; stooping, bending to handle files and supplies; and mobility to complete errands or deliveries. Includes handling of sharps and chemicals.
