The Bosun is a key member of the deck crew responsible for the maintenance and operation of inflatable boats, rescue boats, and related equipment. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on inflatable boats and rescue boats
- Coordinate boat operations with the Captain, Expedition Leader, and Hotel Manager
- Operate inflatable boats during small boat excursions
- Assist in training new staff members on inflatable boat operation
- Maintain up-to-date inventory of small boat gear and equipment
- Oversee fantail cleanup and prepare inflatable boats for guest boarding
- Participate in on-board safety training and drills
- Valid Passport
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification
- Medical Certificate
- USCG 25T Masters License
- Valid TWIC
- STCW Basic Training
- STCW Crowd Management
- VPDSD
Working Conditions
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Ability to work in small spaces
- Ability to fit through a 28-inch wide hatch
