Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Medicine Physician to join our team. As an Occupational Medicine Physician with MBI, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to patients, conducting Fit for Duty evaluations, and participating in the legal process of workers' compensation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide healthcare to patients both in clinic and via telemedicine according to established principles of clinical practice and organizational needs.
  • Support and assist Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) at the physician's clinic location, including supervising or rendering care for patients as needed.
  • Perform complete history and physical exams, including all body systems, vision, hearing, and electrocardiograms, to determine capacity to safely perform specified job functions.
  • Provide medical opinions regarding job accommodations if needed to safely perform specified job functions.
  • Review and interpret radiographs of the chest to determine the presence of a pre-existing pulmonary condition prior to beginning work.
  • Participate in the legal process of workers' compensation, including SAMM's calls, depositions, and testifying in hearings when requested.
  • Evaluate and manage common occupational musculoskeletal injuries of the neck, back, and upper and lower extremities.
Requirements:
  • MD/DO degree required.
  • Occupational Medicine experience preferred but not necessary; otherwise qualified candidates with experience in UC, FP, IM, ER, Sports Medicine, or Ortho may be considered.
  • FMCSA certification for DOT exams preferred, required within 60 days of hire (certification expenses covered by MBI).
  • Current state licensure in good standing (or in process).
  • Current DEA licensure.
  • Level I/II accreditation preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer use and Electronic Medical Records systems.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Must maintain confidentiality.
