We are seeking a qualified part-time Physician to serve as a Medical Review Officer (MRO) for our clients in the Hyattsville, MD area.

This role requires an individual with strong medical expertise and the ability to evaluate medical records, conduct referrals, and ensure employees meet safety and fitness standards before returning to work.

  • The ideal candidate will have experience conducting return-to-duty medical evaluations and performing fitness-for-duty assessments.
  • A strong understanding of DOT regulations and certifications is essential for this position.
  • The selected candidate will be required to hold a current Medical License to practice in Maryland and possess Medical Doctor (MD/DO) certification with DOT Certification for Drug & Alcohol Testing.

The estimated salary for this position ranges from $115 to $125 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive medical record reviews and refer employees as necessary following prolonged absences, major illness, or surgery.
  2. Perform fitness-for-duty assessments at the request of supervisors when an employee's ability to perform essential job functions is in question or when safety risks are suspected.
  3. Collaborate with HR and supervisory staff to provide clear, medically sound evaluations and recommendations.

Certifications and Licensure Requirements:

  • Current Medical License to practice in Maryland (additional licensure in Washington, DC, and Virginia preferred).
  • Medical Doctor (MD/DO) certification with DOT Certification for Drug & Alcohol Testing.
  • Medical Review Officer (MRO) Certification.
