POSITION OVERVIEW
The Retail Team Supervisor plays a vital role in welcoming and assisting customers with a warm and friendly demeanor while ensuring exceptional service delivery.
The Retail Team Supervisor is expected to embody professionalism while adhering to the core values of Goodwill, which include Empowerment, Public Trust, Respect, Innovation, Quality, and Safety.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist customers by providing detailed information, addressing inquiries, fulfilling merchandise requests, processing transactions, and managing customer feedback in a respectful manner.
- Draw in customers by developing display concepts; adhering to visual merchandising guidelines; assembling display fixtures; creating attractive merchandise presentations in windows, showcases, and on the sales floor while meeting production targets set by management.
- Maintain consistent attendance, uphold personal grooming standards, and adhere to the dress code, including wearing company-issued identification. Attend required meetings and training sessions.
- Open and/or close the store, manage cash transactions, and perform nightly bank deposits.
- Timely submission of reports to management and the Corporate Office.
- Engage in ongoing professional development training.
- Train team members on customer service protocols, donation processing, production procedures, and cash register operations.
- Contribute to the recruitment and onboarding of new staff.
- Act as a mentor for team members, fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Oversee the sales team to ensure customers receive prompt assistance.
- Uphold service quality by establishing and enforcing organizational standards.
- Embrace and promote the agency's core values in all interactions at work and within the community.
- Comply with all agency policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to departmental and organizational regulations.
- Actively support diversity and inclusion initiatives, ensuring a welcoming environment for all individuals.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Exhibit outstanding customer service abilities.
- Capable of multitasking while remaining attentive to customer needs and adaptable to business demands.
- Ability to collaborate respectfully and effectively with colleagues.
- Demonstrate teamwork and the ability to take initiative without direct supervision.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and effective communication.
- Basic mathematical skills are required.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma (or equivalent) with at least one year of retail experience, or four (4) years of retail experience.
- Possess a valid Driver's License with a clean driving record and meet state-required liability coverage.
- Successful completion of pre-employment background checks and drug/alcohol screening.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Able to work in varying environmental conditions, including hot, cold, humid, and/or dusty settings.
- Capable of frequently bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods.
- Able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. or more with assistance.
- Must possess adequate vision to perform job functions.
