About the Role

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients of all ages in our hospital. This includes assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing procedures, and monitoring patient vital signs.
  • Delegate tasks to unlicensed personnel, ensuring patient safety and adherence to the Texas Nurse Practice Act.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient care and unit activities.
  • Implement measures to promote a safe environment for patients and others, including knowledge of medication effects and treatment rationales.
  • Clarify any orders or treatment regimens that may be inaccurate or contraindicated, consulting with licensed practitioners as needed.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current RN license in the State of Texas.
  • BLS certification.
  • Unit-specific competencies obtained within six months of hire.
