Physician (Regular FT) - Chief, Infectious Diseases

The VA Saint Louis Health Care System Department of Medicine is seeking an academic leader to join a dynamic and collaborative group of healthcare providers as Chief of the VA Saint Louis Section of Infectious Diseases.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage the clinical, research, and administrative activities of the section.
- Develop and implement educational programs for residents, fellows, and medical students.
- Care for patients in various outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Strive for innovation and growth of the various subsections.
- Mentor faculty and trainees.
- Develop patient care capabilities, educational opportunities, and scholarly pursuits within the section.
The VA Saint Louis Section of Infectious Diseases has five full- and part-time faculty, an RN clinic coordinator, and a half-time ANP. The section runs the institution's Infection Prevention service, Antimicrobial Stewardship program, Outpatient Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT) service, and HIV service.
Requirements- United States Citizenship.
- Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree.
- Full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
