About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Denver, Colorado. This is an excellent opportunity to work on mining projects and contribute to their success.

Job Description
  • As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance to support the planning and design of mining projects.
  • You will participate in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables and develop study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality, cost-effective work.
  • Your responsibilities will also include developing construction cost estimates and estimating technical efforts for projects.
  • You will perform quality control review of design calculations, 3D models, and drawings, as well as prepare technical specification sections.
  • Additionally, you will provide input to the development of engineering budgets and schedules to meet requirements.
  • You will use industry-standard software programs to perform mechanical pipe stress modeling, hydraulic computations, and computer modeling and analysis of water distribution systems.
  • Further, you will assemble calculation packages for the sizing of mechanical and process equipment, such as pumps, tanks, piping systems, and develop reports in Microsoft Word to communicate technical results.
  • You will perform early project design work, including conceptual studies, process flow diagram development, P&IDs, mass balances, equipment sizing and selection, datasheets, and general facility layout/arrangements.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification and valid U.S. driver's license are required.
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: PE in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Arizona, or ability to acquire PE; on-site field experience in commissioning and start-ups for facilities; Master's in Mechanical Engineering or related field; 8+ years of relevant industry experience; MSHA Miner training; demonstrated progressive experience in mechanical engineering, pump and piping design, modeling, and construction documentation.

The estimated salary for this position is $110,000 per year.
