Overview:
PRC Resources is seeking an Automation Engineer to enhance our water treatment operations.
In this role, you will be instrumental in the design, implementation, and upkeep of automated systems that improve the efficiency of water treatment facilities.
Your duties will encompass developing control strategies, programming PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), configuring SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, and resolving automation challenges.
You will work alongside diverse teams to guarantee the effective and dependable performance of water treatment processes.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues by actively engaging in safety initiatives and hazard identification.
Program HMI (FactoryTalk and Wonderware).
Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation, control systems, analyzers, and electrical equipment.
Modify control logic to adapt to changes in equipment or operational conditions.
Develop, maintain, and update standard operating procedures as necessary.
Review equipment startup/shutdown plans to ensure safety compliance.
Act as the controls subject matter expert: Participate in meetings and audits as required.
Formulate action plans to align facilities with relevant regulations and codes.
Collaborate with peers to share knowledge and foster consistency across the organization.
Conduct research and perform cost/benefit analyses on new equipment or processes for potential implementation.
Assist in establishing best practices in plant and field operations.
Set up and operate various shop tools and specialized testing equipment utilized in machine installation or maintenance.
Conduct or arrange evaluation tests on valves, motors, instruments, etc.QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in process instrumentation and electrical maintenance within a water treatment setting.
Proficient in troubleshooting 120-volt AC controls, 480-volt motors, and switchgear.
Skilled in interpreting loop drawings, schematics, ladder logic, electrical one-line, and P&I drawings.
Experienced in maintaining process control loops, electronic controls, valves, and transmitters.
Familiarity with SLC 500/5000 and Compact/Micro Logix systems.
Working knowledge of standard process software.
Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Willingness to travel in support of operations when required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Physical requirements include the ability to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs, and perform walking, bending, and stooping tasks. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment, including a respirator, and respond to visual and audible alarms.
Rockwell PLC certifications are highly preferred.
