Wapiti Medical Staffing is looking for a Board Eligible/Board Certified Pediatric Intensivist to enhance our dedicated team. Our organization is recognized for providing exceptional healthcare services.

Position Overview:
  • We are seeking a candidate due to workforce changes.
  • The work schedule typically consists of 7 days on followed by 7 days off, with potential flexibility based on discussions with the Medical Director.
  • Physicians will engage in 24-hour patient care and on-call responsibilities from home, sharing call duties with another Intensivist.
  • A full-time commitment involves approximately 7.6 shifts per month, with a minimum of 5.5 shifts per month required for benefits eligibility.
  • The role encompasses inpatient care and daily rounds.
  • This position offers an excellent opportunity to achieve a fulfilling work/life balance.
  • Facility classification: Level III Trauma Center.
  • Responsibilities include overseeing a 6-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
  • Involvement in patient admissions and management.
  • Collaboration with families and referring physicians.
  • Coordination with local healthcare providers for patient transfers.
  • Details regarding the documentation system and EMR will be discussed during the interview process.
  • We welcome candidates in their final year of Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship. Candidates must successfully complete Pediatric Critical Care Boards within five years of graduation.
  • We are open to discussing alternative shift schedules.
  • We are not considering Locum candidates.
  • We are not accepting 1099 candidates.
  • We are not considering Visa candidates.
  • We prefer candidates who do not have long commutes or multiple job commitments.
  • This is a permanent, full-time role that may require relocation to the local area.

Candidate Requirements:
  • Board Certified in Pediatrics.
  • Truly Board Eligible (new graduates or those in their final year of fellowship working towards Board Certification within five years) or Board Certified in Pediatric Critical Care.
  • Completion of Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship prior to starting.
  • Possession of a South Carolina medical license (or willingness to obtain one).
  • PALS and ATLS certifications (or willingness to obtain).
  • DEA registration (or ability to obtain).
  • Preferred: Clean malpractice and license history.
