Job Title: Sign Language Interpreter

We are seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to join our team at Sorenson Communications. As a Sign Language Interpreter, you will play a vital role in facilitating communication between Deaf and hearing individuals in various settings.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will have excellent language skills in American Sign Language (ASL) and English, with the ability to interpret between these languages. You will work closely with our team to provide high-quality interpretation services, ensuring that our customers receive accurate and effective communication.

Responsibilities
  • Interpret between ASL and spoken English, providing clear and accurate communication
  • Work effectively in a team environment, receiving support from and providing support to colleagues
  • Adhere to Sorenson policies and procedures, as well as the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct
  • Provide excellent customer service, maintaining a respectful and professional attitude with customers and colleagues
  • Enhance interpreting skills through continuing education and training
  • Maintain compliance with national, state, or local licensure and/or certification requirements
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a variety of settings and locations
Requirements

  • Ability to pass our required skills assessment
  • A high school diploma or GED
  • An associate's or bachelor's degree (preferred, but not required)
  • Interpreter certification
  • 3 years' experience working as an interpreter (preferred, but not required)
