Job Summary:

The University of Oklahoma is seeking a skilled Senior Plumber to join its facilities maintenance team. As a key member of the team, the successful candidate will be responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing all steam and chilled water, sanitary and waste, natural gases, acid, anesthesia gases, water, compressed air, vacuum, and distilled water piping systems on campus.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install piping and plumbing equipment as it relates to remodels and new facility construction on campus, adhering to city and state building codes.
  • Troubleshoot and repair problems with compressed air systems, fans, pumps, water systems, lab systems, sanitary, waste systems, and other plumbing and equipment on campus.
  • Maintain inventory of parts and supplies, and contact vendors to locate and price needed materials.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on piping systems, equipment, and other systems, and fabricate or repair equipment through welding, cutting, brazing, and soldering.
  • Perform various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the functions of any site support position, including assisting any skilled trade.
  • Some overtime, snow, and ice duty, and on-call work may be required.


Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plumbing and piping systems, with experience in installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing a variety of systems. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently are essential. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and a valid driver's license is preferred.
