About the Role
We are seeking a Principal Scientist to participate in research projects directed toward the development of novel aqueous systems of hydrophobic materials (emulsions and dispersions) for applications in papermaking systems, especially the sizing of paper with an emphasis on internal sizing.
Responsibilities
- Participate in research projects to develop novel aqueous systems of hydrophobic materials (emulsions and dispersions)
- Develop and implement research plans to achieve project goals
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate research findings into product development
- Conduct experiments and analyze data to optimize emulsion and dispersion formulations
- Develop and maintain expertise in papermaking processes and materials science
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field
- Five years' progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or any related occupation
- Experience working with the papermaking process, including making alkyl ketene dimer (AKD) and alkenyl succinic anhydride (ASA) emulsions, rosin emulsions, and colloid stabilization systems
