Junior Varsity Tennis Instructor

POSITION SUMMARY
Marlborough School is in search of a committed and enthusiastic Junior Varsity Girls Tennis Instructor to guide and enhance the skills of our Junior Varsity girls' tennis team. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in tennis, outstanding communication abilities, and a dedication to cultivating a positive and inclusive team atmosphere. The Junior Varsity Girls Tennis Instructor will be responsible for coaching, mentoring, and developing student-athletes' skills while promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and a passion for the sport.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, organize, and conduct practice sessions aimed at improving athletes' skills, techniques, and overall performance.
- Instruct on the fundamentals of tennis, including rules, strategies, and sportsmanship.
- Evaluate the abilities and potential of student-athletes, providing tailored coaching and feedback.
- Formulate game strategies and collaborate with the Program Head to ensure cohesive program development.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes during practices, matches, and travel.
- Encourage a positive, inclusive, and supportive team culture.
- Oversee team logistics, including scheduling practices, matches, and transportation.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, school administration, and other stakeholders.
- Promote academic success and good character among student-athletes.
- Adhere to all school policies, athletic department guidelines, and league regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree
- Prior coaching experience in tennis at the high school or club level.
- Strong understanding of tennis, including rules, techniques, and strategies.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor student-athletes.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team environment.
- CPR and First Aid certification required.
- Must pass a background check.
- Flexibility in schedule, including evenings and weekends.
COMPENSATION
$25.00 to $40.00 per hour
