Job Overview

Southwest Waste Services is a leading waste management company seeking a skilled Millwright/Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues on a variety of industrial machines.
  • Installation: Install, align, and dismantle industrial machinery and equipment according to blueprints and technical manuals.
  • Fabrication: Perform welding and fabrication tasks as needed to maintain and modify equipment.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance team members and production staff to address equipment issues promptly and efficiently.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Millwright or Maintenance Mechanic in an industrial setting.
  • Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and welding.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification or apprenticeship in millwright or industrial maintenance is a plus.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Physical Ability: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy equipment, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
  • Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Reliability: Punctual, dependable, and committed to maintaining equipment reliability.
