Job Title: Warp Out Cleaner Support Associate

Milliken & Company is a global leader in materials science, delivering innovative solutions for industries such as textiles, flooring, and healthcare. We are seeking a skilled Warp Out Cleaner Support Associate to join our team at the Kingsley Plant in Thomson, Georgia.

Job Summary:

The Warp Out Cleaner Support Associate will play a critical role in maintaining the efficiency and productivity of our air-jet weaving operation. This individual will be responsible for cleaning the entire machine, sweeping up waste, emptying catchcord, performing doffs, and hauling filling yarn as needed. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be self-directed, and able to work with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clean the entire machine using appropriate PPE, including respirator during blow off.
  • Sweep up waste from the floor.
  • Empty catchcord as needed.
  • Perform doffs, including properly identifying cloth rolls, removing them from the loom, and taking them to the inspection area.
  • Haul filling yarn, verifying the correct amount for each loom.
  • Perform general housekeeping and maintain equipment as instructed by management.
Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Should be self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Requires regular and predictable attendance.
  • Must be able to move around the 316,000 sq. ft. weaving facility with ease.
  • Knowledge of weave room policies and procedures.
  • Ability to complete daily team maintenance (DTM) activities and audit safety items in the department.
Skills:
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions and safety specifications.
  • Must be able to follow instructions accurately.
  • Must be able to accurately record and transfer information.
  • Must be able to grasp numbers quickly and accurately.
  • Must be able to safely operate Powered Vehicles, Filling Carts, and move materials manually as needed.
Work Environment:

The Warp Out Cleaner Support Associate will work in a manufacturing facility with a high noise level, wearing approved ear protection and Steel toe safety shoes. The individual must be able to work in a cotton dust environment and meet cotton pulmonary function requirements.

Shift Requirements:

The shift schedule will depend on open positions at the time of hire. Weekends and holidays may be scheduled depending on business demands. This position works on a rotating shift.
