Position Overview

Franklin Companies is seeking a dedicated Culinary Specialist to join our vibrant assisted living and memory care community. This role is essential in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef in developing menus and recipes.
  • Assist with the receiving, rotation, and proper storage of kitchen supplies.
  • Identify and communicate food and supply needs effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation and infection control regulations, while training staff in culinary skills such as garnishing and presentation.
  • Prepare a variety of dishes including salads, soups, and entrées with a focus on quality and freshness.
  • Participate in nightly cleanup and proper labeling of food items.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in scratch cooking is essential, as all meals are prepared fresh to order.
  • ServSafe sanitation certification is required.
  • Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate vacations and special events is necessary.
  • Comprehensive experience in various aspects of commercial kitchen operations.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language.
  • Knowledge of catering for special events is advantageous.

The starting wage for this position is $18/hour, with potential for higher compensation based on experience.
