Special Procedure Technician

Montefiore Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Special Procedure Technician to join our team in Fort Lee, New Jersey.
Key Responsibilities- Perform technical duties for the sleep disorder laboratory under the supervision of the medical director and/or administrator.
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of sleep disorders, including polysomnography (in-lab and home sleep study), diagnostic and therapeutic services, and patient care.
- Coordinate home care services and education for patients.
- Troubleshoot difficult problems and demonstrate critical thinking skills for problem-solving.
- High School Diploma/GED required, Associate's Degree preferred.
- NY State License or work permit as polysomnographer.
- Minimum 6 months work experience preferred.
- Maintain CPR/BCLS certification.
- Board Certification of Polysomnographer (RPSGT), or obtain within 1 year of hire.
- Knowledge of home sleep study devices and polysomnography machine in conjunction with EEG, EOG, EKG, motion sensors, respiration monitors, and other physiological activities.
The Special Procedure Technician will work in a fast-paced sleep disorder laboratory environment, often working alone with patients. Evening and night shift employees will be required to work independently.
