Key Responsibilities- Interpret and apply laws, policies, and regulations related to social services.
- Monitor and coordinate programs to ensure effective delivery of services.
- Interview and assess client needs to determine eligibility for services.
- Develop and implement service plans to meet client needs.
- Provide case management services to monitor client progress and ensure compliance.
- Manage program waiting lists and track expenditures.
- Prepare and submit budget estimates and ensure payment for services.
- Complete necessary federal, state, and local planning and reporting requirements.
- Coordinate with other agencies and participate in multi-disciplinary teams to provide services to clients.
- Conduct monitoring and evaluation of programs to ensure effectiveness.
- Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field or related experience.
- Valid driver's license upon hire.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work independently.
- Knowledge of social work principles and practices, human behavior, and motivational theory.
- Ability to develop and implement service plans and make sound judgments within existing laws and regulations.
- Bilingual.
- Experience in foster care and adoptions.
- Completion of VDSS training programs or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Employee must be willing to work in the community emergency shelter in the event of a natural disaster or emergency.
