Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and apply laws, policies, and regulations related to social services.
  • Monitor and coordinate programs to ensure effective delivery of services.
  • Interview and assess client needs to determine eligibility for services.
  • Develop and implement service plans to meet client needs.
  • Provide case management services to monitor client progress and ensure compliance.
  • Manage program waiting lists and track expenditures.
  • Prepare and submit budget estimates and ensure payment for services.
  • Complete necessary federal, state, and local planning and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate with other agencies and participate in multi-disciplinary teams to provide services to clients.
  • Conduct monitoring and evaluation of programs to ensure effectiveness.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field or related experience.
  • Valid driver's license upon hire.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work independently.
  • Knowledge of social work principles and practices, human behavior, and motivational theory.
  • Ability to develop and implement service plans and make sound judgments within existing laws and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual.
  • Experience in foster care and adoptions.
  • Completion of VDSS training programs or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Special Requirements

Employee must be willing to work in the community emergency shelter in the event of a natural disaster or emergency.
