Role SummaryThe Patient Transporter is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of patients, medical apparatus, and related items within the healthcare facility. This role is crucial in ensuring a seamless experience for patients and staff alike.
Key Responsibilities- Safely transports patients while ensuring the security of IVs, drainage tubes, and other medical equipment.
- Utilizes wheelchairs and other approved transport devices to facilitate patient movement.
- Demonstrates proficiency in handling patients of all age groups.
- Communicates effectively with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient transport.
- Ensures patient comfort by being attentive to their needs, offering blankets, and maintaining appropriate conversation.
- Immediately reports any signs of patient distress or equipment issues to nursing staff.
- Maintains and reports on the condition of transport equipment.
- Adheres to all regulatory standards and confidentiality policies.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
