Janitorial Specialist

This is a casual janitorial position. Casual employees are those who work on an as needed basis or are scheduled to work less than twenty hours per week on a regular basis.

Shift: Varies; may include days, evenings, nights and/or weekends.

Pay Rate: $16.00/hr for employees working at the Flint Cultural Center Academy, $14.00/hr for employees working at all other sites.

Responsibilities:

• Clean building facilities to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of facilities including restrooms, common areas and offices.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum or scrub all floors.
• Gather and empty trash.
• Report any maintenance issues to the Custodial Supervisor.

Requirements:

• Evidence of stable education and/or work history.
• Prior experience in the janitorial field is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Demonstrate the ability to properly perform the above duties.
• Ability to interact with the public in a pleasant manner while performing job related duties.

Estimated Salary: The estimated salary for this position is between $28,000 - $38,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
