Job Title: Adjunct Faculty - Advance Manufacturing Technology Instructor

Job Summary: Blue Ridge Community College is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach industrial maintenance and manufacturing courses in a hands-on experiential format.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach industrial maintenance and manufacturing courses to students in a hands-on, experiential format.
  • Develop and implement curriculum that focuses on industry skills and provides students with foundational knowledge for mechatronics courses.
  • Maintain a positive classroom/lab culture that promotes student learning and engagement.
  • Perform classroom management of lab-based classrooms, including maintaining equipment and supplies.
  • Work with students in a diverse environment with sensitivity to all members of the community.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in the field or Associate's degree in the field with demonstrated competency in the teaching field.
  • Two years of on-the-job trainer experience or two years of related occupational experience.
  • Knowledge of programmable logic controllers, multiple programming languages, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to create open-ended problems for students to solve creatively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Troubleshooting basic circuitry and electronics problems related to industrial controls and programmable logic controllers.
  • Various robotic and programmable logic controller programming languages.
  • Use and develop electrical, fluid power, and mechanical schematics and prints.
  • Five+ years of manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to prepare students for mechatronics certification exams.
