Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Hospice Volunteer at Interim HealthCare - North Charleston, SC. As a Hospice Volunteer, you will play a vital role in providing support services to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support services, including clerical work, data entry, and mailings.
  • Assist with building and office maintenance, including cleaning, supply management, and groundskeeping.
  • Participate in special projects, such as cooking, sewing, and crafts.
  • Engage in community relations activities, including fundraising, speaking engagements, and health fairs.
  • Provide patient companionship and support, including respite relief for patient caregivers.
  • Assist with light housekeeping, outside maintenance, and shopping/errands.
  • Prepare meals and provide bereavement support.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of the hospice's volunteer training and orientation program.
  • Previous volunteer experience may be helpful.
  • Ability to work as a team member and provide excellent communication skills.
  • Meets all health requirements set by Interim HealthCare Hospice, if applicable.
  • Able to provide proof of valid driver's license, if applicable.
Working Conditions
  • Able to occasionally travel locally from assignment to assignment.
  • Able to frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and reach freely.
  • Able to frequently grasp with thumb in opposition to fingers of palm, i.e. manipulate pen, knobs, or objects.
  • Able to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds in order to carry out daily job functions and related activities.
