SENIOR WATER TREATMENT SPECIALIST

Department: Water Resources

Reports To: Lead Operator

JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Water Treatment Specialist is accountable for the effective operation and upkeep of a water treatment facility, ensuring the delivery of high-quality drinking water for community consumption while adhering to all regulatory standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and maintain the water treatment facility in accordance with all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Initiate, halt, and control machinery and equipment necessary for plant operations.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facility equipment.
  • Oversee plant operations, monitor chemical levels, and assess water quality.
  • Collect and analyze water samples as mandated.
  • Conduct general maintenance and cleaning tasks within the facility.
  • Engage with various stakeholders and personnel.
  • Supervise distribution analyzers and pumping stations within the distribution network.
  • Procure chemicals and supplies as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A High School Diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and certifications in First Aid and CPR are required. Candidates must possess an 'A' Water Treatment License and have a minimum of four years of relevant experience.
