We are seeking a Clinical Ophthalmologist/Optometrist to become part of our skilled medical team to conduct a one-time, non-treatment Veteran Disability Examination.
- Employment Type: Part-Time or Full-Time
- Compensation: This is an hourly role, compensated bi-weekly.
- Schedule: 2-5 days per week, Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm

Qualifications: The Clinical Ophthalmologist/Optometrist must possess the following:
- Active and unrestricted licensure as an Ophthalmologist/Optometrist.
- Must be a qualified licensed Ophthalmologist/Optometrist.
- Certification: Must hold a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability to changing circumstances.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- All on-site personnel must be fully vaccinated in accordance with CDC and state guidelines.
- Previous experience with VA or compensation examinations is advantageous but not mandatory.
Job Overview:
- Review relevant medical history documentation and conduct one-time, non-treatment compensation and pension examinations for Veterans.
- The Ophthalmologist/Optometrist will document responses during the examination using a web-based form; all records will be completed electronically. Finalized examinations are submitted to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for disability determination.
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess vision loss, glaucoma, eye injuries, etc.
- Visual Field Testing may be necessary; equipment will be provided.
