As a key member of our nursing team, the Charge Nurse - Patient Care Specialist provides clinical supervision and leadership to a team of licensed and unlicensed staff during an assigned shift on a designated unit. This role requires a patient-centered approach, utilizing discretion and independent judgment to ensure quality direct and indirect age-specific patient care in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate will promote the empowerment of the nursing profession, excel in implementing new knowledge, innovations, and improvements in practice to enhance the patient experience and clinical outcomes. They will facilitate a positive environment, providing hands-on guidance to engage staff in adopting a care delivery model of accountability, empowerment, and excellence in practice.
Contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population. Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing required. A minimum of three years nursing experience in area of specialty in a facility with an equivalent patient acuity level is required. Minimum of one year of prior management or supervisory experience is preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
Basic knowledge of healthcare regulations and survey process required. Demonstrates advanced competencies in clinical nursing, leadership, supervision, management, and communications skills required. Exhibits professional behavior at all times.
Licensures and Certifications:
Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Basic life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association required. Other certifications as outlined in the department Plan for Providing Care.
