Audiovisual Systems Specialist
Job Summary: The Audiovisual Systems Specialist is tasked with the setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of audiovisual equipment utilized in meeting spaces. This role encompasses audio systems, video displays, projection tools, video conferencing technology, control systems, and associated peripherals. The specialist ensures that all audiovisual apparatus operates effectively to facilitate presentations, meetings, video conferences, and various events conducted in meeting rooms.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation and Configuration:
Install and configure audiovisual equipment in meeting spaces in accordance with specifications and requirements.
Ensure optimal positioning of microphones, speakers, projectors, screens, cameras, and other audiovisual peripherals for enhanced performance.
Set up audiovisual systems and interfaces to seamlessly integrate with existing technological infrastructure.
Operation and Upkeep:
Operate audiovisual equipment during meetings, presentations, and events to guarantee uninterrupted functionality.
Conduct routine maintenance tasks to maintain equipment in peak condition, including cleaning, troubleshooting, and repairs as needed.
Perform regular inspections and tests of audiovisual systems to proactively identify and resolve any issues.
Technical Assistance:
Provide technical assistance to users before, during, and after meetings or events, including troubleshooting audiovisual equipment and aiding with software or connectivity challenges.
Respond promptly to service requests and resolve technical issues efficiently.
Qualifications and Skills:
Demonstrated experience as an Audiovisual Technician or in a similar capacity, particularly with conference room setups.
Expertise in operating and troubleshooting audiovisual equipment, including sound systems, projectors, displays, video conferencing tools, and control interfaces.
Hands-on experience with leading AV control systems such as Crestron and Extron, including programming, configuration, and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with digital signal processing (DSP) platforms, such as Biamp, for audio system optimization and management.
Strong technical acumen in networking, audio processing, video processing, and signal flow.
Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for audiovisual installation, configuration, and maintenance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capability to provide technical support to users with varying levels of technical expertise.
Detail-oriented with robust problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively.
Certification in relevant audiovisual technologies (e.g., CTS certification) is advantageous.
$20 - $30 an hour
Compensation is commensurate with experience
