Job Description

At BioMarin Pharmaceutical, we are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Director to join our Global Sourcing and Procurement team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for driving and delivering procurement value to support stakeholders' and organizational strategic objectives.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in sourcing and procurement, with experience in the pharmaceutical industry. You will be responsible for leading a team of procurement professionals in supporting BioMarin and the Technical Operations Organization across various categories, including direct materials, primary packaging, contract manufacturing, facilities management, and site services.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing sourcing and category strategies to drive savings and risk mitigation
  • Leading complex negotiations with suppliers to secure the best possible terms
  • Managing supplier relationships and ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business strategy and goals

Requirements:

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management
  • Strong knowledge of procurement tools and technologies, including Ariba and SAP
  • Experience in managing in-scope categories, particularly category strategy development and implementation
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and meet tight deadlines
