Job Summary and QualificationsThe Emergency Room Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in alignment with departmental requirements and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty.
Working alongside medical providers and other care team members, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." The RN advocates for patients and families while embodying the organization's vision and values to ensure an exceptional patient experience and clinical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for assigned patients.
- Meet the Standards of Practice for the Emergency Department and manage all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment.
- Participate in quality improvement activities to enhance patient care.
- Conduct triage assessments for patients seeking treatment.
- Perform venipunctures for laboratory tests.
- Provide interventions in emergency situations.
- Assume departmental charging responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
- Current Texas Licensure with State Board of Nurse Examiners.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
- Certification in Advanced Life Support (ALS) within 6 months of hire.
- Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire.
- Minimum one year of experience in Emergency Services.
