About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Instrument Fitter to join our team at Brown & Root. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, maintaining, and adjusting a variety of instruments and test equipment.

Key Duties:

  • Select the correct type and size of pipe and related material based on job specifications
  • Install, repair, maintain, and adjust indicating, recording, tele-metering, and controlling instruments and test equipment
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install primary piping and tubing
  • Read and interpret technical instructions and documentation to plan work activities
  • Move materials and equipment to work locations and set up work sites
  • Follow all hazardous waste handling guidelines
  • Complete records, maintain tools and equipment, and perform various clean-up and housekeeping activities
  • Disassemble malfunctioning instruments or test equipment and examine and test mechanisms and circuitry for defects
  • Replace or repair defective parts using hand tools
  • Reassemble instrument or test equipment and test assembly for conformance to specifications using instruments
  • Inspect instruments and test equipment regularly and adjust calibration to ensure they function within specified standards
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of pipe and tubing systems
  • Experience with precision instruments and hand tools
  • The ability to read and interpret technical instructions and documentation
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail
