Role Responsibilities
The Nurse Extern will work under the guidance of a Registered Nurse (RN) to assist in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with the clinical team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Collecting and documenting patient information throughout their care journey.
- Assisting with patient mobility and ensuring comfort through regular repositioning and transfers.
- Translating complex medical terms to enhance patient and family understanding of medical conditions and treatment plans.
- Providing education on healthy lifestyle choices and self-management strategies upon discharge.
Qualifications Required
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program and in good academic standing.
- Ability to develop and follow a personal career development plan.
- Completion of at least one year of nursing school is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
