Position Overview:

The Perfusionist is accountable for managing the heart-lung machine during cardiac surgical operations.

Reporting Structure:

This role reports directly to the Director of Cardiovascular Services.

Employment Classification:

Exempt


Qualifications:

Educational Background:
Completion of a CAHEA-accredited perfusion education program
Associate's degree in a relevant medical field
*Relevant experience may substitute for educational requirements.

Certifications:
Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
Board Certification from the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (preferred)

Skills Required:
Demonstrated critical thinking abilities, sound judgment, and capacity to operate independently. Must thrive in high-pressure situations and respond appropriately.

Experience:
A minimum of 1 year of clinical experience is required.
