Position Title: Assembler II
Location: South Chesterfield, VA
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble component parts into sub-assemblies, assemblies, and completed units by adhering to assembly travelers and standard work instructions.
- Utilize hand tools, electric tools, and pneumatic tools effectively.
- Maintain performance standards in assembly, production, quality, safety, and cleanliness.
- Ensure work area is organized and clean by implementing 6-S practices.
- Make minor adjustments or setups to equipment under supervision.
- Conduct visual inspections and use inspection equipment to assess parts or units.
- Report any defective materials or conditions to the lead person or supervisor.
- Follow standard operating procedures and instructions from leads and supervisors.
- Assist in cross-training team members and support production as required.
- Perform assembly or production tasks with minimal supervision.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1-2 years of experience in production assembly work.
Ideal Candidate Attributes:
- Basic reading, writing, PC, and math skills.
- Ability to read a tape measure and understand fractions and decimals.
- Familiarity with 6S practices and job specifications; capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and/or sit for extended periods.
- Capacity to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
- Team-oriented, flexible, and adaptable.
