Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Intervention Specialist to join our team at Dayton Area School Consortium. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing instructional programming to guide and encourage students with disabilities to develop and fulfill their academic potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Instructional Programming: Create and implement lesson plans that address the needs of students with disabilities, align with district-adopted courses of study, and incorporate teaching interventions and techniques to address individual learning styles.
  • Establish a Positive Learning Environment: Develop and maintain a positive learning environment that leads to effective pupil management and student success, ensuring that class lists and teaching materials are readily available for substitutes.
  • Evaluate Student Achievement: Evaluate student achievement and performance, preparing progress reports and consulting with parents/guardians as needed.
  • Support Inclusive Education: Support an inclusive educational environment, providing opportunities for students with disabilities to participate in appropriate learning activities, and proctoring district testing activities.
  • Collaborate with Team Members: Collaborate with team members to develop and implement intervention and Individualized Education Plans (IEP) for classroom students meeting eligibility requirements, and make referrals for student assistance/intervention as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Education
  • Experience: Successful student teaching experience, with 1-3 years of prior teaching experience preferred
  • Licensure: A valid Ohio Teachers license or certificate appropriate for teaching students with disabilities, including the grade and/or subject matter taught
