Interventional Radiology Technologist

PRIMARY ROLE:
Support the radiologist in executing angiographic interventions while fulfilling the responsibilities of a radiologic technologist. Reports directly to the diagnostic radiology supervisor.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Execute all responsibilities associated with a radiologic technologist.
+ Assist the radiologist during specialized procedures (e.g., angiography) with a comprehensive understanding of the procedural steps, including the management of instruments such as catheters, guidewires, and needles.
+ Prepare patients for specialized interventions.
+ Prepare various contrast agents tailored for specific procedures.
+ Establish and maintain a sterile environment and organize trays for procedures.
+ Configure injection rates, imaging protocols, and exposure sequences as instructed by the radiologist.
+ Participate in on-call duties on a rotating schedule.
+ Demonstrate commitment to Quality in Action principles and engage in related processes as appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Current New York State Radiologic Technologist License.
CERTIFICATION:
ARRT Certification with a minimum of one year of experience in radiology. CPR certification is required.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This role involves walking or standing for over 90% of the time, with tasks requiring bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 lbs, including patient movement. Responsibilities also include maneuvering beds, stretchers, and mobile x-ray equipment.

Category I - Involves tasks with potential exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues.
