A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN AUTOMOTIVE MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

As an Automotive Maintenance Technician, your day involves traveling to various locations to service vehicles. You will ensure that your company vehicle is well-stocked with necessary supplies and that your tools are in optimal condition. After receiving your daily schedule, you will utilize GPS or maps to navigate to your appointments punctually.

Upon arrival, you will discuss the requested services with the customer and proceed with the tasks at hand. Your responsibilities include performing inspections, oil changes, and lubrication services efficiently.

Maintaining a clean work environment is crucial, and you will be attentive to detail, ensuring no mess is left behind. You will also adhere to safety regulations regarding waste disposal. After completing the service, you will document the job details and return the vehicle keys to the customer, who will appreciate your friendly and responsible service.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN AUTOMOTIVE MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Ability to perform vehicle inspections, oil and filter changes, and lubrication services using appropriate tools
  • Proficient in using GPS technology and/or maps
  • Basic math skills for interpreting and measuring fluid quantities
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including crawling, bending, and lifting
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to operate manual transmission vehicles
