Job Title: Sales Associate Lead

At Dollar General, we're committed to providing exceptional customer service and creating a positive shopping experience for our customers. As a Sales Associate Lead, you'll play a key role in achieving this goal by leading our sales team and ensuring that our store runs smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and motivate the sales team to achieve sales goals and provide excellent customer service
  • Assist in setting and maintaining plan-o-grams and programs
  • Provide training and guidance to sales associates on sales techniques, product knowledge, and customer service
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels, including receiving, stocking, and rotating merchandise
  • Assist with opening and closing the store, including counting registers and making bank deposits
  • Perform other duties as necessary to maximize profitability, customer satisfaction, and teamwork
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training)
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
  • Knowledge of cash handling procedures, including cashier accountability and deposit control
  • Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills
  • Understanding of safety policies and practices
Working Conditions:
  • Frequent walking and standing
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling to run check out station, stock merchandise, and unload trucks
  • Frequent handling of merchandise and equipment, including handheld scanners, pricing guns, box cutters, merchandise containers, two-wheel dollies, U-boats (six-wheel carts), and rolltainers
  • Frequent and proper lifting of up to 40 pounds; occasional lifting of up to 55 pounds
  • Occasional climbing (using step ladder) up to heights of six feet
  • Fast-paced environment; moderate noise level
  • Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions
  • Occasional or regular driving/providing own transportation to make bank deposits, attend management meetings, and travel to other Dollar General stores
