Key Responsibilities:
- Support research scientists in materials synthesis and characterization, inventory management, and general laboratory upkeep.
- Prepare and manage chemical reagents, compounds, and samples for analysis, ensuring precision and safety.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) for experimental protocols, ensuring consistency and reproducibility.
- Assist in the calibration and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments, promptly reporting any technical issues.
- Collaborate with team members and subject matter experts to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges.
- Participate in maintaining the laboratory environment, including ordering and organizing supplies while ensuring cleanliness and safety.
- Help uphold compliance with safety protocols and industry regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will possess a combination of the following professional competencies and personal attributes:
- Extensive experience with advanced analytical techniques and instrumentation.
- Solid understanding and proficiency in materials science or analytical chemistry, particularly in the synthesis and characterization of inorganic materials.
- Demonstrated experience in operating and maintaining analytical instruments, such as diffractometers, adsorption apparatus, and spectrometers.
- Hands-on experience in a research and development environment.
- Proven track record in method development and optimization.
- General knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and best practices.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow precise instructions and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to identify root causes and develop practical solutions.
- Exceptional time and project management skills, able to adapt to new challenges swiftly.

- Bachelor's degree in Materials Science with 10+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in Materials Science with 6+ years of relevant experience, or a PhD in Chemistry or Materials Science with 2 years of experience, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in a university or industrial research laboratory setting.
- Hands-on experience in a wet chemistry laboratory.
- Preferred experience in materials synthesis and characterization.
