As a licensed registered nurse, you play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional care and outstanding customer service, embodying respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in every interaction with patients, their families, and colleagues. Within the healthcare team, RNs take primary responsibility for the coordination and delivery of personalized care for patients across all age groups. The registered nurse employs critical thinking and delegation skills to ensure quality service through a collaborative, team-oriented approach to patient care.

The responsibilities of the RN include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Conducting age-specific admissions and ongoing assessments, which are documented and utilized to formulate a comprehensive care plan.
  • Collaborating with healthcare team members, patients, and families to create, implement, and assess an age-appropriate interdisciplinary care plan, adjusting it as necessary based on changes in patient condition.
  • Evaluating, planning, and implementing patient care to achieve optimal outcomes for individuals of all ages, tailored to the specific service area.
  • Administering and documenting treatments and medications for patients of all ages accurately, utilizing automated systems, including electronic medical records.
Qualifications:

Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program or an approved program eligible for licensure examination.

Licensure/Certification: Must hold a current Registered Nurse license in Virginia or be eligible for licensure. CPR certification is required, along with ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications as necessary.

Additional Requirements: Proficiency in computer skills for electronic medical records (EPIC) is essential. Successful completion of orientation and competency assessments is required. Must meet essential job functions.
