About Grandview Medical Center:

  • Delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care to the Dayton community for over 90 years.
  • Offering a wide range of specialties, including orthopedics, cardiovascular care, surgical services, and trauma care.
  • Expanding services to meet community needs, including the addition of a new catheterization lab and electrophysiology lab.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Nursing Assistant is an integral member of our multidisciplinary patient care team.
  • This role focuses on assisting patients with daily living activities and executing patient care tasks as assigned by the licensed nurse, adhering to the Ohio Board of Nursing Scope of Practice.
  • The Nursing Assistant is expected to maintain proficiency in the assigned tasks and demonstrate the necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Additionally, the Nursing Assistant will support departmental operations and undertake other responsibilities as needed.
  • Reports directly to the Clinical Nurse Manager.

Qualifications:

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Completion of Kettering Health Nursing Assistant orientation.
  • Current certification in CPR/BLS.
  • One of the following qualifications:
    • At least six months of experience as a nursing assistant in a hospital or long-term care setting.
    • Completion of a Nursing Assistant training program within the last six months.
    • Enrollment in a nursing program or pre-nursing status as indicated on academic transcripts.
    • Current employment with Kettering Health.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Fundamental computer literacy and typing skills.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and operate in a high-pressure environment.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to understand and execute delegated tasks efficiently.

This position is situated within our Pre/Post/PACU area, where the Nursing Assistant will assist with patient transport, ensure room readiness, monitor vital signs, and manage bed assignments. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, consisting of 8-hour shifts.
