Meat Cutter Apprentice

We are seeking a skilled Meat Cutter Apprentice to join our team at SpartanNash. As a key member of our meat department, you will be responsible for cutting and preparing a variety of meats to meet the needs of our customers.

• Cut and trim meats to exact specifications
• Prepare value-added products such as steaks, chops, and sausages
• Operate department scales and price products accurately
• Rotate and merchandise shelves, cases, and displays to ensure a visually appealing store environment
• Notify management of product and supply needs
• Unload and stock merchandise
• Provide exceptional customer service and engage in suggestive selling techniques
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One year of retail or related experience preferred
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend documents
• Basic mathematical skills
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

The physical demands of this role include standing and walking for extended periods, lifting up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The associate may be required to bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently. The work environment is typically a retail store setting with varied temperatures and occasional exposure to outside weather conditions.
