Job Title: Van Driver

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Van Driver to join our team at the City of Lincoln/Lancaster County. As a Van Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting passengers and ensuring their comfort and safety during transit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate a 12-passenger van and bus safely and efficiently
  • Assist passengers boarding and disembarking the vehicle
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Report any vehicle problems or issues immediately
  • Maintain a clean and orderly vehicle
  • Adhere to City of Lincoln and Federal Transportation Associations Drug & Alcohol Policies and Procedures
Requirements:
  • Minimum age of 18
  • Possess and maintain a current Nebraska Driver's License with an excellent driving history
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs
  • Ability to transport passengers using a wheelchair, scooter, or other mobility device
  • Ability to safely operate the lift and demonstrate proper tie-down securement techniques
Working Conditions:

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with variable hours available between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The Van Driver will be required to work in a cooperative team setting, contributing occasional evening and weekend shifts when necessary.
