Primary Objective:

The TIG Welder will perform welding operations in a controlled argon atmosphere, focusing on titanium castings for aerospace applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct titanium TIG welding in a chamber to repair castings, adhering to all relevant procedures.
  • Utilize precision tools, including calipers and profile templates, to ensure accurate repairs.
  • Collaborate with team members on rework strategies to guarantee castings meet stringent specifications.
  • Employ a grinder for tungsten shaping as required.
  • Manage the loading and unloading of castings from the welding chamber.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment and equipment.
  • Execute additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Completion of a formal vocational training program or relevant TIG welding experience (1-2 years) is preferred.
  • Successful completion of a welding assessment within the first 4-6 weeks of employment.
  • Passing an annual vision examination is required.
  • Physical capability to bend, lift, push, and pull, with or without accommodations.
  • Basic high school-level mathematics skills are necessary.
  • Proficiency in the use of small, precise tools.
  • Consistent attendance is essential.
  • Attention to detail is crucial, requiring continuous mental and visual focus.
  • Ability to understand measurements and effectively use measurement tools.
  • A collaborative attitude and self-motivation are essential traits.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent GED is required; relevant experience may be considered for candidates without this credential.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • A stable employment history with over one year at the previous or most recent employer is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, with or without accommodations.
  • Willingness to undergo a pre-employment background check.
  • Readiness to participate in pre-employment and periodic drug screenings.
Work Environment:
  • The position is performed under generally favorable working conditions, with some exposure to noise, temperature variations, and machinery.
Work Schedule:
  • Weekend Day Shift (Friday-Sunday 5:00am-5:30pm) - $1.25/hr. shift differential
  • Swing Shift (Monday-Thursday 3:30pm-2:15am) - $1.00/hr. shift differential
  • Overtime may be required based on business needs.
