We are seeking an experienced EHSQ Specialist to join our team at Kemira. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Mojave, CA, plant in meeting EHSQ targets, ensuring safe and environmentally responsible operations for our employees and the community.

• Lead a proactive safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance through procedure development, auditing, and document management.
• Act as the principal contact with local regulators for site safety and environmental compliance, advising plant management on various regulatory requirements.
• Oversee employee training on health, safety, and environmental issues, maintaining detailed training records.
• Coordinate incident analysis, action plan follow-ups to prevent reoccurrence, and maintain document control as per ISO/Corporate requirements using SharePoint.
• Manage the emergency response program and medical monitoring initiatives in line with corporate guidelines and the plant Integrated Contingency Plan.
• Develop site Industrial Hygiene protocol and supervise its execution, including coordinating the personal protective equipment program.
• Lead the plant's waste minimization and Behavioral Safety Programs, focusing on sustainable options and positive reinforcement.
• Collaborate with production teams to review and improve health, safety, environmental, and quality processes.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field (Environmental, H&S engineering, or similar) and/or equivalent experience in a chemical/manufacturing facility.
• Thorough knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and Indiana State regulations is beneficial.
• Lab bench work capability.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to write and review procedures.
• Ability to successfully time-manage in order to prioritize and complete a variety of competing tasks.
• Experience with MS office applications, including word, excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SAP.
