The position of CNC Machinist at Arkwin Industries offers a unique opportunity to utilize your technical skills in a fast-paced production environment.
Located in Westbury, NY, our company designs and manufactures hydraulic and fuel system components for both the commercial and military aerospace markets.
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to support our goals in the NC department, ensuring timely production and high-quality results.
This role involves running two machines simultaneously when needed, adhering to given time standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Setup and Operation: Set up and run production on NC Lathes, ensuring efficient use of equipment and materials.
- Quality Control: Conduct first-piece and in-process inspections to guarantee product quality.
- Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine tool changes and inserts as needed, maintaining optimal machine performance.
Additional Requirements:
- Inspection and Measurement: Accurately complete inspection check sheets for each job, utilizing Gages (Dial bores, Groove gages, Depth Mics).
- Cross-Training: Be open to learning new skills in other departments if required, such as Honing, Grinding, or Deburring.
Organizational Support:
- Policies and Procedures: Adhere to established policies and procedures to maintain a productive work environment.
- Administrative Tasks: Complete administrative tasks accurately and within deadlines.
Requirements:
- Languages: Ability to read and interpret documents like Blueprints and operation sheets, understanding NC programs and Read-outs.
- Computer Skills: Download NC Programs to Machine from NC server, familiar with NC controls including OSP (Okuma), Fanuc, and Mori Seiki.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as a CNC Machinist.
Physical Demands: The employee must be able to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor. They will occasionally exert up to 20-50 pounds of force, frequently exert up to 10-25 pounds of force, and constantly exert up to 10 pounds of force to move objects.
Visual Acuity: Near acuity and accommodation are required for reading machine dial gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used in inspection or parts.
Hearing Ability: Monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes, taking appropriate action.
Working Conditions: The employee is subject to high noise levels from operating machines, physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts, breathing fumes, dust, and mist, and skin exposure to oils and cutting fluid.
