The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Surgical General department plays a vital role in providing high-quality patient care under the guidance of the Charge Nurse and/or the OR Manager. This position is essential for the effective management of the surgical patient's care plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive patient care utilizing the nursing process.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
Qualifications:
A. Education and Skills:
Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
B. Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
C. Licenses and Certifications:
- Current Registered Nursing license in Louisiana.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 3 months of hire.
- Certification as a Nurse of the Operating Room (CNOR) is preferred.
