Responsibilities

In your role as a Construction Laborer, you will be tasked with providing essential labor support for both aerial and underground construction projects. You take pride in executing your work with precision and excellence, and you are ready to embrace the challenges that come your way.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing various manual tasks such as excavating trenches, unloading construction materials, and preparing job sites using hand tools like shovels, rakes, and picks.
  • Executing general labor duties on construction sites.
  • Assisting with the placement of conduit as directed by the Foreman or Supervisor.
  • Engaging in map reading and navigation.
  • Supporting trench digging and closing activities.
  • Facilitating the movement of materials and vehicles as instructed by the Foreman or Supervisor.
  • Conducting maintenance tasks as directed by the Foreman, including cleanup, vehicle washing, and landscaping.
  • Adhering to prescribed safety procedures and utilizing appropriate safety equipment.
  • Participating in vehicle and equipment operations as directed and certified.
  • Towing various trailers with flatbed trucks.
  • Carrying out aerial and underground work as needed and as trained.
  • Troubleshooting RF and Fiber line or equipment issues.
  • Constructing and repairing underground RF and Fiber services.
  • Learning to read and interpret design schematics and maps.
  • Familiarizing yourself with all inventory and equipment necessary for these projects.
  • As applicable, obtaining certification on the use of equipment such as:
    • Line trucks
    • Bucket trucks
    • Cable reel equipment
    • Saws and drills
  • Climbing poles safely using climbing equipment.
  • Relocating RF and Fiber services as needed.
  • Understanding NESC (National Electrical Safety Commission) safety guidelines.
Qualifications

  • You hold a valid Driver's License and maintain a clean driving record.
  • You are capable of lifting and carrying up to 70 lbs.
  • You can read and comprehend maps, drawings, and diagrams relevant to the project build process.
  • You are prepared to pass a UI Test (urinalysis).
  • You can interpret design schematics and maps.
  • You have climbing certification or relevant experience.
  • You possess practical experience in overhead construction for both RF and Fiber.
  • You are knowledgeable about Overhead Bill of Materials.
  • You understand city, county, and state clearance codes.
  • You have extensive knowledge of network architecture and design for RF and Fiber networks.
  • You are Flagger Certified for fieldwork as necessary.
  • You exhibit excellent verbal, written, phone, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
