We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in Bellaire, MI. As a Long Term Care Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the well-being of our residents.
Responsibilities- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques and facility policies.
- Prepare equipment and assist physicians during treatments and examinations.
- Monitor residents' conditions and reactions, and notify supervisors and physicians of any concerns.
- Take vital signs and assess residents' conditions to detect any deviations from normal.
- Assign duties and coordinate nursing services to ensure residents' needs are met.
- Consult with supervisors on nursing problems and facility policies.
- Report any complaints or unusual problems to supervisors and assist with completion of facility reports.
- Participate in orientation and training of nursing personnel.
- Evaluate nursing activities to ensure resident care, staff relations, and efficiency of service.
- Assign duties and coordinate nursing services on the resident unit.
- Observe nursing care and visit residents to ensure that care is carried out as directed.
- Assume responsibility for unit narcotics and maintain records.
- Inspect resident rooms and the unit for cleanliness and comfort.
- Document admissions, discharges, transfers, and incident reports per facility policies.
- Participate in care plan process and complete nursing assessments and resident care plans accurately and timely.
- Complete special projects and audits at the direction of supervisors, CCC, or Director of Nursing.
- Maintain all educational requirements for the State of Michigan to keep license current.
- Maintain resident confidentiality and treat residents with kindness, dignity, and respect.
- 2+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Travel experience required.
- BLS (AHA or ARC) certification required.
- Covid vaccine strongly encouraged (if declining, mandated to wear a mask).
- Ability to work the set schedule created by the facility.
- Agency submitting requirements: work history, skills checklist, at least 1 supervisor reference, and MI LPN license.
May be asked to serve in Charge capacity. No block schedule guaranteed. Every other weekend required. Facility address is across from Humane Society and may occasionally have a Canine support visitor. If Clinician is afraid of dogs, may not be the best fit.
