Driver Education Trainee

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Driver Education Trainee to join our team at the State of Connecticut, Department of Administrative Services. As a Driver Education Trainee, you will assist the Program Coordinator and Division Manager in the Driver Education and Testing Unit, performing a wide range of duties including interpreting and administering state and federal laws, planning and managing program activities, and communicating with internal and external partners.
Key Responsibilities- Interpret and administer state and federal laws related to driver education and testing
- Plan and manage program activities, including developing and implementing recommendations for program improvement
- Communicate with internal and external partners, including instructors, school bus companies, and driving schools
- Assist with training programs for school bus and driving school instructors
- Perform related duties as required
- Three years of current employment as a state employee, including one year in work related to the target class
- Experience with Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and criminal systems, including Quick Service Center (QSC) and Criminal On-Line Law Enforcement Communications Teleprocessing (COLLECT)
- Experience with Entry Level Driver Training and CDL appointment systems
- Experience with licensing, driving school, and instructors
- Experience with school bus training regulations, reviewing instructor applications, and meeting with master instructors
