Job Title: Academic Coach

Join Fresno Unified School District as an Academic Coach, a vital role in supporting instructional practice and improving student learning outcomes. As an Academic Coach, you will work closely with teachers, professional learning communities, and site leadership to enhance instructional strategies within content areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify interim targets and short/long-term goals with teachers
  • Deliver on-site professional learning sessions based on teacher needs
  • Develop clear, data-based descriptions through observations and notes
  • Offer recommendations based on collected data
  • Demonstrate, model, or co-teach lessons or instructional strategies
  • Hold planning sessions with teachers
  • Cognitive Coaching and lesson reflection
  • Coaching cycles
  • Analysis of student work to support next steps
  • Support for literacy/math initiatives
Requirements:
  • Valid California Credential
  • English Learners Certification
  • Bachelor's degree and minimum of three years classroom teaching experience at the appropriate level
